not my pov #2, 2020.
For this sculpture, I used several of the responses I received. A lot of people gave very detailed and creative descriptions after a lot of thought. One of the main responses used: “there would be bubbles floating everywhere, thousands. Each bubble would have happy individuals enjoying something they love. Because, what makes one person happy can’t make another person happy, so in order for everyone to be happy, they need to live in their own bubbles." Others contributed by saying the first word that came to their mind. A majority of people said the color blue, which I found strange because even though blue represents serenity and calmness, “feeling blue” is a phrase we often use when we are feeling sad. I decided to explore more on the color because of this juxtapose. Other responses I used include 'unbalanced', 'impossible', 'hypnotic', 'negative space', and 'unity'. The balls appear to be balanced from a distance, but are not, portraying unbalance in the world.
